Yeah I know what you are thinking what does goals have to do with creating a family binder. Did you know that only less than 3 percent of people set goals. You know them goals we all set on January 1st. called a new years resolution and by January 4th you don't know where you wrote them down at. Oh and how about them new years resolution that are about 50 pages long.
Well I did some advance checking on how to set these goals. Below will get you started.
1) Only make a couple goals to start out with. Here are some examples: Start a family binder, Lose weight ( Of course we have started that one. ), Get out of debt and get organized. Sit down and put is someplace you can look at them all the time. Not on the back of a scrap paper which I just did. Get pencil and paper. Sorry folks, I am not a put it on my iPod kind of girl. You must see them visually a few times a day.
One thing to keep in mind don't let the family ride you about it. Mine did at first, because I always start something. This goal thing has really worked. I guess that is what I was missing.
2) Identify the road blocks that may prevent you from achieving the goal.We all know what a few of them can be. Lost the paper you wrote it on. Lazy, lets be real people we get lazy and start self talking our self out of the goal. The dog ate my goal list. Here is the famous one; I will start it tomorrow. Put this down on paper what you think the obstacles will be. Let me give you an example:
Weigh loss: The obstacles that will stand in my way is having all the potato chips just sitting there and someone has to eat them. Here is something I used, I am the only one in the family that needs to loss weight.BEEP!! Wrong eating healthy is for everyone.
3) Identify the things you need to help you achieve the goal. Now time to make a list of what is going to help you get to the place you want to be at. To be 5 pounds lighter or have this binder done you need things to achieve the goal. In the next blog I will talk about supplies.
4) Set a date for the achievement of your goal. What set a date? Yeah set a date for when you want your goal to be done. So let's see I am going to start my goal to have this binder created by September 1st.
5 )Write down the goal. Review it often. Now time to put this goal everywhere. Here is an idea for you. If you are trying to get out of debt and over spend when going to the store try putting a post it note on the credit card. Put on it: STOP do you really need this or do you have 5 of the same thing at home. You need to put these goals were you will see them. Put a little photo binder by your bed and look at it when you get up and when you go to bed.
** I will create one and show you what I am talking about.** (Dollar store)
6) Make a step-by-step plan of your goal.Baby steps are in order for this. How am I going to get from A to Z in order. Once again the example queen is ready to show you.
I am going to create a family binder, I can see my self organized and if my family needs something they have a place to look things up. No searching through boxes and drawers of paper work. My family will not have to search the pile of unopened letters from the bill collects. (You all get the point.)
I know I will have obstacles like not finding the binder. Not getting the right binder I want. Oh and how can I not forget being the perfectionist I am and not starting it at all.
Now to just go down to the Wal-Mar and get my supplies. ( I will talk about supplies on my next blog.) Now is the best time than ever to start with just one goal for now. Later I will work on the others.
Well I think you got the picture. Write or type it and let this be the first thing in your binder. Please keep in mind the perfection in you has to be put under submission.

Tip of the Day - What to do at the gas station
Here is my tip of the day. How many of you just jump out of your vehicle to pump gas and either stand there or go back and sit in the vehicle. Well you will do this no more and I repeat you will do this no more. Time to throw the trash. Let someone else have to throw that big bag of trash. One day I was sitting in my truck picking my nose. HAHAHAH no not really, but I was in the zone thinking of all the stuff I had to get done. Well then I glanced over and seen the trash can and a person do none other that throw the trash away from their car.
Well needless to say the light bulb went on. Now every time I stopped to pump gas I grab all the trash and throw it. At first my kids now official teenagers would get mad and have a fit.Give it time it does take practice. Now when we stop at the gas station you will have something to do.This will cut down on having your vehicle look like the local land field. Here is my tip of the day.

It all has to start somewhere
Well everything had to start somewhere. So I am going to start by getting my house in order. There are many people that were lucky enough to have a parent show them how to run a house hold. A lot of what I learned in life have been day to day stuff. Watching others run a house, learning on my own and YouTube video's. Hey don't knock YouTube there are some cool stuff out there. How to fold clothes, what to do with all that Pamper Chef stuff we all buy, and just how to coupon.
Time to get back to the subject at hand. To get a house in order there has to be a hub. What I mean by hub is a central location where everything starts and then branches out like a tree. What better tree trunk but a family binder. So over the next few month's a Family binder will be created. This first project will not happen over night. So let's jump outside the box and create.

Where to start
There are so many things to blog about, but where do I want to start this is hard. In this blog I want to inspire, create, organize and just step outside the box. So hang on and lets see what I feel like blogging for the day. Get ready for the journey.
